# SWEC vs DRMessenger

The clearest difference is update cadence: DRMessenger at every 2 months against SWEC's every 6 months. DRMessenger also leads on review sentiment (42% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (12.2 vs 16.0). SWEC's advantage is rating (3.1 vs 2.9). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SWEC holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 12 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of SWEC's written reviews are positive against 42% of DRMessenger's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SWEC ships an update every 6 months, DRMessenger every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
