# Word Search Colorful vs Syntaxle

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Syntaxle at 100% against Word Search Colorful's 57%. Word Search Colorful's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Search Colorful sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Syntaxle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Search Colorful holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Search Colorful has 9.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Word Search Colorful's written reviews are positive against 100% of Syntaxle's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Word Search Colorful ships an update fortnightly, Syntaxle every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
