# M+ Messenger vs setlog

The clearest difference is rating: M+ Messenger at 4.9 against setlog's 4.0. setlog's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly) and monetization model (free vs freemium). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

M+ Messenger holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: setlog has 61 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of M+ Messenger's written reviews are positive against 63% of setlog's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

M+ Messenger ships an update monthly, setlog every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
