# YouTube vs Video Editor

The clearest difference is rating: YouTube at 4.7 against Video Editor's 3.5. YouTube also leads on ratings volume (49M vs 12) and chart position (#1 vs unranked). Video Editor's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 15) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouTube sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Video Editor asks for nothing beyond the download.

YouTube holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YouTube has 49M ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of YouTube's written reviews are positive against 81% of Video Editor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
