# YouTube vs Rawpixel

The clearest difference is rating: YouTube at 4.7 against Rawpixel's 3.7. YouTube also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (50M vs 7). Rawpixel's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 15) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouTube sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month. Rawpixel asks for nothing beyond the download.

YouTube holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: YouTube has 50M ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

YouTube ships an update weekly, Rawpixel every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
