# Bible KJV vs Read Scripture

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Read Scripture at none against Bible KJV's 3. Read Scripture also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). Bible KJV's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 1.8K). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible KJV sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Read Scripture asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Bible KJV against 4.8 for Read Scripture. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bible KJV has 13K ratings behind it against 1.8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 87% and 87% positive.

Bible KJV ships an update every 4 months, Read Scripture every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
