# Boiled Egg Timer vs SideСhef

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Boiled Egg Timer at none against SideСhef's 2. Boiled Egg Timer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). SideСhef's advantage is ratings volume (1.7K vs 1) and review sentiment (67% vs 43%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SideСhef sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Boiled Egg Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Boiled Egg Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SideСhef has 1.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Boiled Egg Timer's written reviews are positive against 67% of SideСhef's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
