# Paint Tester vs Paint my Room

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Paint Tester at 77% against Paint my Room's 25%. Paint Tester also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.3). Paint my Room's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paint Tester sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Paint my Room sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Paint my Room holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.3K and 680 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Paint Tester's written reviews are positive against 25% of Paint my Room's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Paint Tester ships an update every 3 months, Paint my Room every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
