# Rivercast vs Floodzilla

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Floodzilla at none against Rivercast's 2. Floodzilla also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Rivercast's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (11K vs 3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rivercast sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Floodzilla asks for nothing beyond the download.

Floodzilla holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rivercast has 11K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Rivercast ships an update every 11 days, Floodzilla every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
