# GPGuide vs Formula Racing Calendar

The clearest difference is monetization model: Formula Racing Calendar at free with in-app purchases against GPGuide's subscription. Formula Racing Calendar also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). GPGuide's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPGuide sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Formula Racing Calendar sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Formula Racing Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 42 and 52 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of GPGuide's written reviews are positive against 58% of Formula Racing Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPGuide ships an update every 2 weeks, Formula Racing Calendar every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
