# Remote Desktop Guest vs OberCloud

The clearest difference is update cadence: OberCloud at every 3 weeks against Remote Desktop Guest's every 6 months. Remote Desktop Guest's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Remote Desktop Guest ships an update every 6 months, OberCloud every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
