# Chess!! vs Online Chess LiveGames

The clearest difference is rating: Chess!! at 4.0 against Online Chess LiveGames's 1.0. Chess!! also leads on ratings volume (60 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Online Chess LiveGames's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 69%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess!! sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Online Chess LiveGames sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chess!! holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess!! has 60 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of Chess!!'s written reviews are positive against 82% of Online Chess LiveGames's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chess!! ships an update every 5 months, Online Chess LiveGames every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 18, 2026.
