# Shift Planning Calendar vs myShiftWork

The clearest difference is monetization model: Shift Planning Calendar at free against myShiftWork's freemium. Shift Planning Calendar also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift Planning Calendar sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and myShiftWork sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shift Planning Calendar holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shift Planning Calendar has 817 ratings behind it against 141, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 83% of Shift Planning Calendar's written reviews are positive against 71% of myShiftWork's.

Shift Planning Calendar ships an update every 5 weeks, myShiftWork every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
