# Shift Planning Calendar vs Calendars

Shift Planning Calendar and Calendars both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 83% of Shift Planning Calendar's written reviews are positive against 56% of Calendars's. Shift Planning Calendar also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 18.2). Calendars's advantage is ratings volume (122K vs 816) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shift Planning Calendar sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Calendars sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Shift Planning Calendar against 4.7 for Calendars. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendars has 122K ratings behind it against 816, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 83% of Shift Planning Calendar's written reviews are positive against 56% of Calendars's.

Shift Planning Calendar ships an update every 5 weeks, Calendars weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
