# electric imp vs Meraki

The clearest difference is rating: Meraki at 4.7 against electric imp's 3.0. Meraki also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 2). electric imp's advantage is review sentiment (78% vs 56%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Meraki holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Meraki has 1.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of electric imp's written reviews are positive against 56% of Meraki's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

electric imp ships an update every 2 months, Meraki fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
