# Travel Docs vs Passport.app

The clearest difference is rating: Passport.app at 4.8 against Travel Docs's 4.0. Passport.app also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 48 months) and ratings volume (943 vs 1). Travel Docs's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (14.4 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Passport.app holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Passport.app has 943 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Travel Docs's written reviews are positive against 30% of Passport.app's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Travel Docs ships an update every 48 months, Passport.app monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
