# Learn Chinese vs Immersive Chinese

The clearest difference is rating: Immersive Chinese at 4.8 against Learn Chinese's 4.5. Learn Chinese's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 57) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn Chinese sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Immersive Chinese sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Immersive Chinese holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn Chinese has 1.2K ratings behind it against 57, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Learn Chinese's written reviews are positive against 90% of Immersive Chinese's.

Learn Chinese ships an update every 2 weeks, Immersive Chinese every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
