# WeatherMax+ vs Mistral Weather

The clearest difference is rating: Mistral Weather at 5.0 against WeatherMax+'s 4.5. Mistral Weather also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%). WeatherMax+'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WeatherMax+ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Mistral Weather sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mistral Weather holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WeatherMax+ has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. WeatherMax+ ships an update every 3 weeks, Mistral Weather fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
