"De" or "het"? Look up any of more than 73,000 Dutch nouns and see its article right away, together with a translation into your language and a Dutch definition. Then train the articles in a quick game that keeps bringing back the words you got wrong. Whether you are taking Dutch classes, preparing for an exam or just want to sound more natural, De Het helps you get it right. SEARCH Type the first few letters of a noun and see its article immediately. The built-in dictionary works offline. TRANSLATION Translate any word into more than 50 languages. Translation runs on your device, so once the language data is downloaded it works without an internet connection. DEFINITION Read what a word means in the Dutch Wiktionary without leaving the app. SAVED WORDS Save the words you find tricky and keep them together in one list. Look them up again at any time, or play a game with just your saved words. Back up your list or share it with friends and classmates: one tap creates a link, and opening it on another device lets you add the words to your own list or replace it. Handy when you get a new phone. GAME Guess the articles of nouns shown one by one in random order. Choose the level (Beginner, Advanced or Expert), the number of words and the speed. Words you get wrong come back in your next game, and with one tap you can practice just your mistakes, so your time goes to the words you have not mastered yet. CHALLENGE YOUR FRIENDS Send a word as a link to friends or classmates and let them guess its article. RULES The articles of Dutch nouns may seem random, but they are not completely so. Learn handy rules and guidelines for telling de words from het words. AND MORE • Color-coded articles: de in blue, het in red (optional) • Light and dark theme in the color of your choice • App in English, Dutch, German and French • Long Dutch words are hyphenated correctly, so even the longest compounds stay readable on small screens • Free, with ads you can switch off in Settings

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ServeNow at none against De Het's 1. ServeNow also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 5 months). De Het's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 67%) and ratings volume (45 vs 4). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. De Het sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ServeNow asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for De Het against 4.8 for ServeNow. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: De Het has 45 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of De Het's written reviews are positive against 67% of ServeNow's.
De Het ships an update every 5 months, ServeNow every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
