# myON vs Inkling

The clearest difference is rating: Inkling at 4.5 against myON's 3.1. Inkling also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months). myON's advantage is review sentiment (37% vs 20%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Inkling holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Inkling has 2.4K ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of myON's written reviews are positive against 20% of Inkling's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

myON ships an update every 4 months, Inkling every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
