# スマートCIS vs PDF Gear

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Gear at 85% against スマートCIS's 24%. PDF Gear also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (9K vs 1). スマートCIS's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

スマートCIS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Gear has 9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of スマートCIS's written reviews are positive against 85% of PDF Gear's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

スマートCIS ships an update every 6 months, PDF Gear monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
