# Falk Maps vs OSM sketch

The clearest difference is rating: Falk Maps at 5.0 against OSM sketch's 4.5. Falk Maps also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Falk Maps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 98% of Falk Maps's written reviews are positive against 100% of OSM sketch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Falk Maps ships an update every 2 months, OSM sketch every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
