# Sight & Sound vs Telostream

The clearest difference is rating: Telostream at 5.0 against Sight & Sound's 1.7. Telostream also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 15 months). Sight & Sound's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sight & Sound sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month. Telostream asks for nothing beyond the download.

Telostream holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sight & Sound has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sight & Sound ships an update every 15 months, Telostream every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
