# True Skate vs Skatrix

The clearest difference is price: Skatrix at Free against True Skate's $1.99. Skatrix also leads on rating (4.1 vs 3.8) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). True Skate's advantage is ratings volume (9K vs 45) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Skatrix is free to download; True Skate costs $1.99 up front. True Skate sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Skatrix sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Skatrix holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: True Skate has 9K ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of True Skate's written reviews are positive against 50% of Skatrix's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

True Skate ships an update fortnightly, Skatrix every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
