# Secure Reader for BlackBerry vs PDF Book Reader

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Book Reader at 63% against Secure Reader for BlackBerry's 9%. PDF Book Reader also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (32 vs 2). Secure Reader for BlackBerry's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.9) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Book Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Secure Reader for BlackBerry asks for nothing beyond the download.

Secure Reader for BlackBerry holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Book Reader has 32 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Secure Reader for BlackBerry's written reviews are positive against 63% of PDF Book Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
