# AMScope vs i

The clearest difference is rating: AMScope at 5.0 against i's 1.4. AMScope also leads on iOS requirement (5.1.1 vs 9.0). i's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 1) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AMScope holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: i has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AMScope ships an update every 2 months, i monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
