# Compass vs Compass XXL

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Compass XXL at 100% against Compass's 33%. Compass XXL also leads on rating (4.5 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (11 vs 1). Compass's advantage is update cadence (every 8 months vs every 62 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Compass sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Compass XXL sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Compass XXL holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Compass XXL has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of Compass's written reviews are positive against 100% of Compass XXL's.

Compass ships an update every 8 months, Compass XXL every 62 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
