# Lighter vs Yellow Card

Lighter and Yellow Card both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Yellow Card's written reviews are positive against 47% of Lighter's. Yellow Card also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). Lighter's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 3). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lighter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Yellow Card asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Lighter against 4.3 for Yellow Card. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lighter has 1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of Lighter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Yellow Card's.
