# Lighter vs GameTracker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: GameTracker at 100% against Lighter's 47%. GameTracker also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). Lighter's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lighter sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and GameTracker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lighter ships an update every 4 months, GameTracker every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
