# Whitelines vs Notebook

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Whitelines at none against Notebook's 1. Whitelines also leads on ads (none vs shown). Notebook's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whitelines asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notebook holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 523 ratings behind it against 103, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 59% of Whitelines's written reviews are positive against 71% of Notebook's.

Whitelines ships an update every 5 months, Notebook every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 8, 2026.
