# MySCE vs VC Safe Beaches

The clearest difference is rating: VC Safe Beaches at 2.5 against MySCE's 1.9. VC Safe Beaches also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.0). MySCE's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VC Safe Beaches holds the better App Store score, 2.5 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MySCE has 1.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of MySCE's written reviews are positive against 0% of VC Safe Beaches's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MySCE ships an update monthly, VC Safe Beaches every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
