# BACtrack vs Meal Snap

The clearest difference is update cadence: Meal Snap at every 5 days against BACtrack's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BACtrack sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $39.99 per year and Meal Snap sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $39.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BACtrack ships an update fortnightly, Meal Snap every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
