# TrueLook vs EarthCam

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EarthCam at 84% against TrueLook's 40%. EarthCam also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (119 vs 2). TrueLook's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TrueLook holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EarthCam has 119 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of TrueLook's written reviews are positive against 84% of EarthCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TrueLook ships an update every 10 months, EarthCam weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
