# Biographer vs Plotten

The clearest difference is rating: Plotten at 4.3 against Biographer's 3.7. Plotten also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (50 vs 7). Biographer's advantage is review sentiment (38% vs 20%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Biographer sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Plotten sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plotten holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plotten has 50 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Biographer's written reviews are positive against 20% of Plotten's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Biographer ships an update every 3 months, Plotten every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
