# C vs Soft Sounds

The clearest difference is price: Soft Sounds at Free against C's $9.99. Soft Sounds also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.4) and device support (3 vs 1). C's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 18 months). On review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Soft Sounds is free to download; C costs $9.99 up front. Soft Sounds sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. C asks for nothing beyond the download.

Soft Sounds holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: C has 40 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of C's written reviews are positive against 71% of Soft Sounds's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

C ships an update every 5 weeks, Soft Sounds every 18 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
