# Daf Hachaim vs PortalDafHyomi

The clearest difference is update cadence: PortalDafHyomi at monthly against Daf Hachaim's every 4 months. PortalDafHyomi also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (210 vs 28). Daf Hachaim's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

PortalDafHyomi holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PortalDafHyomi has 210 ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Daf Hachaim's written reviews are positive against 84% of PortalDafHyomi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Daf Hachaim ships an update every 4 months, PortalDafHyomi monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
