# BE vs MACH Energy

The clearest difference is rating: MACH Energy at 5.0 against BE's 2.3. MACH Energy also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 13.0). BE's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MACH Energy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BE has 135 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BE ships an update every 2 months, MACH Energy every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
