# Transparent Thermometer vs Temperature Lite

The clearest difference is rating: Transparent Thermometer at 4.5 against Temperature Lite's 3.1. Transparent Thermometer also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months). Temperature Lite's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Transparent Thermometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Temperature Lite sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Transparent Thermometer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Transparent Thermometer's written reviews are positive against 60% of Temperature Lite's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Transparent Thermometer ships an update every 9 days, Temperature Lite every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
