# MediaFire vs MEGA

The clearest difference is ads: MediaFire at none against MEGA's shown. MediaFire also leads on review sentiment (69% vs 45%) and device support (4 vs 2). MEGA's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (108K vs 1.2K). On price, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MediaFire sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MEGA sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MEGA holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MEGA has 108K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of MediaFire's written reviews are positive against 45% of MEGA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MediaFire ships an update monthly, MEGA every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
