# Golf Genius vs Golf Hits Counter

The clearest difference is price: Golf Genius at Free against Golf Hits Counter's $2.99. Golf Genius also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 18 months). Golf Hits Counter's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 26%). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Golf Genius is free to download; Golf Hits Counter costs $2.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Golf Genius holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Golf Genius has 76K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Golf Genius's written reviews are positive against 60% of Golf Hits Counter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Golf Genius ships an update every 3 weeks, Golf Hits Counter every 18 months. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
