# MyBook vs Parallel Texts Reader

The clearest difference is rating: MyBook at 4.8 against Parallel Texts Reader's 4.0. MyBook also leads on ratings volume (3.8K vs 10) and chart position (#130 vs unranked). Parallel Texts Reader's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (54% vs 41%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyBook sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Parallel Texts Reader asks for nothing beyond the download.

MyBook holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyBook has 3.8K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of MyBook's written reviews are positive against 54% of Parallel Texts Reader's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyBook ships an update every 2 months, Parallel Texts Reader every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
