# Vocabulary Trainer vs Germanize

The clearest difference is rating: Germanize at 5.0 against Vocabulary Trainer's 2.0. Germanize also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 19%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 82 months). Vocabulary Trainer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vocabulary Trainer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Germanize sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Germanize holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 19% of Vocabulary Trainer's written reviews are positive against 50% of Germanize's.

Vocabulary Trainer ships an update every 82 months, Germanize every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
