# SwitchboardFREE vs Client

The clearest difference is update cadence: Client at every 2 months against SwitchboardFREE's every 7 months. Client also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SwitchboardFREE ships an update every 7 months, Client every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on June 5, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
