# Extron Control vs VarCo

The clearest difference is update cadence: VarCo at every 3 weeks against Extron Control's every 4 months. Extron Control's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Extron Control ships an update every 4 months, VarCo every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
