# StudyChat Chinese vs JTC

The clearest difference is monetization model: StudyChat Chinese at free with in-app purchases against JTC's subscription. StudyChat Chinese also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). JTC's advantage is ratings volume (80 vs 1) and review sentiment (96% vs 77%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyChat Chinese sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and JTC sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudyChat Chinese holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JTC has 80 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of StudyChat Chinese's written reviews are positive against 96% of JTC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

StudyChat Chinese ships an update every 3 months, JTC every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
