# UbiCam vs Remote4

UbiCam and Remote4 both sit at 3.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 61% of Remote4's written reviews are positive against 23% of UbiCam's. Remote4 also leads on ratings volume (25 vs 4). UbiCam's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 12.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Remote4 holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Remote4 has 25 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of UbiCam's written reviews are positive against 61% of Remote4's.

UbiCam ships an update every 3 weeks, Remote4 every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
