# Ancient Mystery vs Cipherhack

The clearest difference is rating: Cipherhack at 3.0 against Ancient Mystery's 2.0. Cipherhack also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 15 months). Ancient Mystery's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 11.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ancient Mystery sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Cipherhack sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cipherhack holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Ancient Mystery's written reviews are positive against 0% of Cipherhack's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ancient Mystery ships an update every 15 months, Cipherhack every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
