# Dollar General vs Circle K

The clearest difference is monetization model: Dollar General at free against Circle K's free with in-app purchases. Dollar General also leads on ratings volume (1.1M vs 26K). Circle K's advantage is review sentiment (52% vs 42%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Dollar General against 4.8 for Circle K. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dollar General has 1.1M ratings behind it against 26K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 42% of Dollar General's written reviews are positive against 52% of Circle K's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
