# Fluxx vs House Rules

Fluxx and House Rules both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of House Rules's written reviews are positive against 57% of Fluxx's. House Rules also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months). Fluxx's advantage is ratings volume (548 vs 7) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fluxx sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and House Rules sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

House Rules holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fluxx has 548 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of Fluxx's written reviews are positive against 100% of House Rules's.

Fluxx ships an update every 6 months, House Rules weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
