# The Homework App vs Assignment Planner

The clearest difference is rating: Assignment Planner at 4.6 against The Homework App's 4.2. Assignment Planner also leads on device support (5 vs 3). The Homework App's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 138) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Homework App sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Assignment Planner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Assignment Planner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Homework App has 4.2K ratings behind it against 138, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of The Homework App's written reviews are positive against 57% of Assignment Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Homework App ships an update fortnightly, Assignment Planner every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
